best price for FR2-LE?

After considerable web-based research (I live way out in the boonies, so
can't actually test these things personally), I've pretty much decided to g=
o
with the Fostex FR2-LE as my upgrade from ATRAC mini-disc. Thus far, the
price of $599 USD seems to be the going rate at most internet shopping
sites. Can anyone direct me to a better deal? I do have agents (relatives)
strategically based in NYC and LA if there needs to be some street haggling=
.
