oktavas are very good, but they tend to be somewhat sensitive to windnoise. i 
personally prefer dynamic microphones with parabolic reflectors - you could 
even try a shure sm 58; i am sure you could borrow one and try out.

Hello all! I am currently building a 22" parabolic reflector rig, and 
am searching for the best microphone for the job. I need XLR output and 
a maximum price of $200 used. I have looked at the Samson C02 and the 
Oktava 012... Any thoughts?  Thanks, Chris
