Hereabouts (UK) it's a quiet time for starlings. I wouldn't expect a
juv to be singing, though you'll know the horrible begging sound all
too well ;) Is the juv coming into spotted plumage yet? I don't believe
I've ever heard the grey juv form sing, just heard them beg for food.
They should be out of that phase by now.
The adults aren't singing much either at the moment. So you may be
expecting too much of your little one, unless the seasons are that
different in the States.
