is the MESSAGE of the recording. A great recording, even if not technicall= y perfect, creates emotions in the listener, or even concepts. These can, for some, be of eve= n a spiritual quality. For me, they harken to the purity of the creation, and the wonder= ful diversity of life, so indescribably detailed yet also at the same time so unified into o= ne system. Thus, the concept of unity and dynamics which permeate great recordings. See the= Vee of Geese, the Chipewwa Series, Walt Knapp's recording of Bufo americanus, Kel= ler's Sage Grouse, Krause's wolf chorus, and so on not to offend anyone by omission ho= pefully. Post recording studio work is treated as a separate subject here. Having fun on Memorial Day Weekend. Not to be taken too seriously but to b= e pondered over -- with mild amusement. |
