model car shop and bought one with a charger (actually not "Tamiya" brand but the same thing for RC cars =96 7.2v, 3700 mAh, with the Tamiya plug on it). The manual says that the machine automatically detects these batteries and sets itself accordingly. However with the Tamiya in, when I look in the menu the battery choice still shows "alkali", if I manually set it to "RC7.2V" it then tells me that the (fully charged) battery is nearly empty and only gives me about 10 mins recording time before switching off, whereas if I leave the menu set on "alkali" it performs as one would expect. Since it takes only 4 alkali batteries (4x1.5=3D 6v) and the Tamiya is 7.2v I am a bit worried about overloading something if it is not showing the right setting. Does anyone else experience this ? Thanks for any advice on these two. Chris |
