Speaking of insults, is this garbage is always just below the surface?
Last time it showed itself was when a prominent member of the list used
a commonly recognized ethnic slur to describe Japanese industrial
practices. When I objected, I was met with a flury of protests from a
few of the other prominent members of the list. Now here we go again,
this time a different pejorative for a different set of people. Perhaps
the spelling is intended to make it less objectionable (or maybe the
speller is just ignorant) but the intent is clear. If it walks like a
racist, quacks like a racist, it must be a racist.
So, Mr. Moderator, will you rise to defend this one or speak out against
it. I can't seem to remember how you reacted to the previous ethinic
slur if you responded at all..
Rich, perhaps you might tell us why this example seemed so appropriate
to you that you had to send it to the list.
Jim Lee (with a highly restrained response).
