FR2-LE . . . . . . update?

A newbie to this forum and hobby, I've followed the initial comments
and reviews on this from users. Any further updates as use increases?

I'm contemplating on a purchase of a flash recorder, moving up from a
Marantz cassette deck that I've used for quite some time. I had an
offer to purchase a mint Edirol R-1, but even the seller indicated
that the gain is not very good for any type of ambient work i.e. even
at max, much too low.

Appreciate any input you may have. Rather general, but I'm at that
point (and still researching methods).

thanks

Al
