Actually George I am brand new to this web stuff too. I wanted to share sounds easily (and cheaply) and saw someone from this group using a google facility and investigated. Go to http://labs.google.com/ and sign up for a google account if you don't have one already. I found it really easy to make a page using their instructions (15 mins clicking around) and upload my file (mp3 format to save size), has a nice preview facility and you can easily correct your mistakes. I am making a new page each time I share a sound. Not sure if I have the courage (or time) to start my own full web site. It gives you 100Mb and is free. It seems to be in a testing phase by google (in their "labs" area)- just what that means I don't know. Look forwards to the Racoons !
