I have a Sennheiser zeppelin for my stereo MS mic, and a white furry coat (= whatever it is called). Am taking this backpacking, with Sound Devices MP-2 mixer preamp,= and other gear (tipod, cables, recording device). The shock mount for the mic inside= the zeppelin is somewhat delicate, and could get squashed, or more accurately the plastic c= ould get broken (has happened once and has been super glued already). I would like to construct a case or protective device for the zeppelin unit= for the many miles of hiking in between recording sessions. Of course I threw away the = box. Any ideas or best practices? What do people do that take this kind of gear= on long backpacks? Do they not take wind protection? Do they construct cannisters = or protective triangles? Or am I pushing the state of the art? Perhaps I will just put it in the ba= ckpack. Space and weight are of course limited. Thanks for any advice. George Paul |
