When I was out at the Lodi Crane Festival with Paul Matzner in November, we went out to the area called "The Mound" on Woodbridge Road to watch the evening fly-ins of multiple species to a marsh. Just after dark we saw an owl cruising around, and heard an interesting call neither of us had heard before: http://www.dandugan.com/downloads/Lodi-Owl%20Ticking.mp3 Anybody know what this is? I recorded for an hour and it only happened once= . Here's a sample from there of a flock flyover with interesting wing sounds: http://www.dandugan.com/downloads/Lodi-Wings%20Buzz%20Overflight.mp3 -Dan Dugan |
