The WL or MX only refers to the way the cap is wired on the connector end I believe. The WL183 is still for sale. WL is for 'Wireless' I think...it's got a connector to go to a wireless body pack. For our purposes we generally chop it off and rewire a couple of them together to make a stereo pair.
