We've got lots of natural soundscapes from the Mojave and especially
in the areas you're speaking of. These include singing sand dunes.
And Martyn and I will be driving through that area in a few weeks
camping at a location just east of Barstow (which we will be driving
through). Now, that corridor is intensly noisy with little chance for
capturing unaffected natural sound. But we do have some from the
early 80s.

As for the train-talk, Rudy Trubitt, who used to be
on the list, has spent the last several years recording train sounds
for a Lionel-related client and probably has everything you need if
it is available through his client.
