Subject: [Nature Recordists] possibly OT? bird song in movies
Hello all,
I apologize if this is too OT for the list - you're the only ones out
there that I thought might appreciate the observation I wanted to
make. :)
Just finished watching the recent movie "Blood Diamond" as was
continually distracted by the frequent use of what I think was a
Black-Throated Green Warbler, and a couple of times I thought I heard
a Hairy Woodpecker to boot. All heard within the African jungle,
which if my guides are accurate, really isn't possible?
I supposed it's not news that movies often use bird song for
environmental "color", song that is not realistically possible in the
location in which the movie is set. But I just had to vent. :)
Thanks for humoring me,
Karen
