i have but rarely use either protools or wavelab. i mostly use cool edit (n=
ow audition) and have found most of the data i enter in the wave editor (us=
ing control p) is viewable and editable in infoedit. i have not had much us=
e for broadcast wave format's additional tags as they mostly have to do wit=
h broadcasters needs.

Be a little careful with this one. I got excited about it too but I
just downloaded it and it doesn't seem to read the Brodcast Wave
metadata that I included in files that I made with other software.
(Wavelab and ProTools) The Broadcast Wave metadata is a standard
thing these days and most of the new recorders (Sound Devices etc.)
will write in this information automatically and you can edit it with
the above programs. If this software doesn't conform to the standard
then you will probably only be able to read what you type in with this
software and nothing else if you find a better solution. Neither Pro
Tools or Wavelab give you good search and sorting tools so I was
hoping this one would work for me. If you are into spending money
(which I know I'm not) a friend of mine has been raving about
Soundminer which is a professional audio searching database with a
host of groovy features but it retails for about $1000 USD so you have
to be pretty serious about it. www.soundminer.com
