Hi Phil Many thanks for your helpful comments. I should have said that the mics I t= end to use are, for general fieldwork, an old Sennheiser ME66 short shotgun= , this particular one I've been using for ten years or so. For pure recordi= ng I have been using a Telinga parabola with an ME62 omni since 1997. We al= so use a tripod-mounted ME62 for bird census (though quality is not much of= an issue there). Both mics use the K6 power supply. I suppose my biggest concern is adding noise to recordings.
