I use my MP2 this way with the SASS/MKH-20 setup I use. It is particularly useful in really quiet sites when running the mic on the high tripod. Max usable gain I can get and both the MP2 and Portadisc are running at the sweet spot in their settings. I set mine up with a attenuating cord between the MP2 and the Portadisc then use the Portadisc in mic input mode. Once you get the attenuation right that seems to work better than going in as line in. Walt |
