I can't speak highly enough of the Pelican cases. They are also very
waterproof and have the pressure relief valve. It really works, as
you'll find out if you lock the case at high altitude and then try to
open it at lower altitude - it simply won't open until you open the
pressure release valve. I find that very reassuring.

But you are absolutely right about the "steal me" aspect of them. That
is why I have refrained from taking mine on overseas recording
expeditions, preferring to put my gear into non-descript backpacks and
taking it as carry-on luggage.

My biggest fear with a Pelican is having it, and its contents, stolen.
And that could happen anywhere - even in airports where the luggage is
unloaded on those conveyor belts. I'd hate to be stuck in a queue at
customs while some lowlife grabs my case and heads out the door...
