Sorry for being a bit late here...
There is probably nothing wrong with the mineroff dish. What it sounds like=
will depend on which mic you put into it.
The problems that self-makers get into, is not the sound quality itself,
but bulkiness, portability, wind and handling noise. And it is quite a
time-consuming job to experiment with making it stereo.
If you really want to make something sensational, make a one meter (or
more!) glassfibre dish and put a R=F6de NT1A into it. It will be quite a jo=
b
to find out about suspensions and windshields, but WHAT a parabol you get
for picking out single birds in mono!
