Hi Guys, Finally I've got something to let you hear. The recording can be found here: http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=21771 So there are 2 species I think you can hear: Asian openbill Stork & Grey Heron. I made a photo of the location too: http://ad2004.hku.nl/freesound_picture/storkheron.jpg Btw the file name was accideantally named "Black necked stork" which these obviously aren't. I'm not much of a birder but my dad is, so I am going by the list he made of the birds we saw, and where and how many etc. Vultures have dissapeared from India, my dad had spend time in Bharatpur 25 years ago and the difference was huge, apparantly the main cause is poison in the foodchain. Similar story to what (allmost) happened to the buzzard over here with DDT. Any comments are welcome btw! Cheers Anton Woldhek http://anton.woldhek.nl |
