Pardon the cross-post for folks on both lists.

I received my Tunetalk Stereo yesterday from the Apple store. I've only
had time to make some quick "voice notes" with it. It's got a single
switch to enable/defeat the automatic gain control, and a single LED to
indicate recording which also blinks on overs (so it's a one-bit level mete=
r).
It does provide plug-in-power so some of my DIY electret mics should
work. Plug-in-power is not defeatable, so I hope it doesn't drive output
stages from preamps batty. The record software is primative (start/pause/q=
uit)
and there's no on-the-fly file splitting. No meter display, just elapsed t=
ime,
but there's always faint hope for a firmware upgrade.
I'll try to get some samples up this weekend. I may be able to feed the
BTS/iPod from the phones out of my SD722 and get a fair A/B of the BTS/iPod
signal path and converters.
