Today's Chronicle brings the news that the new Secretary of the Interior has thrown out the Hoffman draft attempt to revise the mission of the national parks. Very good news! http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=3D/c/a/2006/06/20/MNG1FJH1HV1.DT= L Natural soundscapes are mentioned in the 4th paragraph of the article. There was also an article about Bernie Krause in Sunday's pink section: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=3D/c/a/2006/06/18/PKG2KJ8RSB1.D= TL&hw=3Dkrause&sn=3D001&sc=3D1000 I'm disappointed that the article doesn't mention the names of his partners in the Arctic Slope baseline recording project. -Dan Dugan |
