If you listen to the A/B comparison tests between the $2400 and $200 recorder and can say to yourself, "You know, I really do hate that extra noise introduced by the mic pre in that $200 recorder," then-- maybe you should wait and save up for the $2400 recorder rather than invest $800-1300USD into a recorder that _might_ cut that horrible increase in noise in half?
