Thrushes and Log Trucks

While reexamining some files from springtime two years ago, I came on
this nice section of Varied thrushes that at the time I had considered
unusable because of persistent noise from a not-distant-enough logging
operation. (mp3, 3.8MB, 4:09min.) (Caution: contains human-made sounds!!)

In attempt to salvage, the main thing I did was cut out everything
below 500Hz and replaced it with a much quieter section recorded in
the same spot on a different morning. The log trucks are almost all
gone. (mp3, 3.8MB, 4:09min.)

Personally, I think the edited version looses a little too much from
the original =96 like the slopping sounds in the water and the low
throatiness of the Hooded merganser. I suppose I should take my own
best advice and get back out there and try again.
