Zaxcom, makers of the highly regarded DEVA multitrack recorders, has announced a new pocket-size field recorder called the ZFR100. Some highlights: pocket size two channel recorder "broadcast quality" preamps records broadcast WAV and MP3 ..(and Zaxcom's proprietary .ZAX lossless compressed format?) sampling rates used for A/D conversion unspecified removeable 2GB Flash memory (probably Secure Digital) time code generator powered by 2 AA batteries weight four ounces (presumably without batteries or flash card) price $995 delivery date unspecified http://www.zaxcom.com/hotnews/nab2006_preview.htm If this were announced on Saturday, 4/1, I would be suspicious, but I think that Zaxcom is serious! --oryoki ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
