Sony has officially announced the MZ-RH1 Hi-MD machine. Release of units for USA is expected in summertime, which may mean as late as September. The announcement released a paroxysm of posting on the Minidisc.org site. The good information is on the first page or two: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=3D14814 One worrysome "feature" of the RH1 is that it uses a rechargeable Lithium-ion internal battery only. There does not appear to be an external case for a AA cell. Sony rates the internal battery for six hours of uncompressed WAV recording, which is not so bad. The MZ-RH10 with internal NiMH battery and external AA battery is rated for 8 hours of recording. --oryoki ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
