Hi,

I guess I am your 1,000 memeber. Thanks for letting me join your group.

My name is Sonia Ortiz. I lead a sustainable develompment project in El Cielo
biosphere Reserve, located in the State of Tamaulipas in Northeast Mexico. This
is the northernmost cloud forest in the American Continent.

Since 2003 we have been training locals to become birding and butterfly
watching guides. We also organize nature festivals in the area.

This year the guides want to record bird songs and calls at El Cielo Biosphere
Reserve. They applied for a grant and got some funds to get the recording
equipment, edit the sounds and then sell the CD`s. We have a limited budget, so
we need your help to choose the right equipment. Neither I nor the guides have
experience in professional recording or editing. Please be extra specific if
you give us any sugestions. Nothing would be to obvious to us.

We have chosen the following items, please let us know if these are the right
ones to use for bird song recordings. If you make a suggestion for something
different, please keep it within our budget. We can have these items shipped to
Texas and we can pick them up there.

1) Sony MZ-RH10 Hi-MD Walkman Digital Music Player (Product #241659)
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&kw=SOMZRH10&is=REG&Q=&O=productlist&sku=376663
 Budget $300 dollars
2) Audio-Technica AT3032 Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone (Product #270564)
www.musiciansfriend.com Budget $170 dollars
3) Musician's Friend Lo-Z Microphone Cable 20' 10-Pack (Product #338006)
www.musiciansfriend.com Budget $25 dolars.
4) Let us know if we need to buy discs or any other items. please be specific.

I really appreciate your help. Thanks,

Sonia Ortiz
