Microphone manufacturers sometimes rate sensitivity as dBV/Pa, and= sometimes as mV/Pa. A dBV is dB relative to one Volt. So 1 Volt is 0 dBV,= 0.1 Volt (100 mV) is -20 dBV, and 0.01 Volt (10 mV) is -40 dBV. So -40 dBV/Pa is the same as 10 mV/Pa. Just to confuse things a little more, you will ocassionally find that microphone manufacturers use a reference level of 1 microbar (1 uBar), whic= h is 74 dB SPL. |
