I have had similar problems burning CDR's. There is basically no informatio=
n
from the disc nor the recorder manufactures covering this issue or failure
of their products. This has led to a lot of confusion since users are unabl=
e
to do all the testing a manufacturer can. The best thing that I have come u=
p
with is to record at no more than 24x. I got this from reading forums onlin=
e
and it seems to work for a lot of people who were having problems. I sell
CDs all over North America and I haven't had any complaints using the 24x
speed. In some cases I had to replace CDs recorded at higher speeds with
ones recorded at 24x and the disc played well for them. Some of my customer=
s
were using new players from Sony, so, I think Doug has it right with the
thin layer of dye that may lead to the contrast between the pits and lands
not to be high enough for some players.
I hope that helps.
