Klas, sorry, your email is ambiguous. You mean try to keep it
loose? The mic's a big fat thing and the rubber was taut - ie
liable to vibrate - which is what I think you mean.
I recorded quite a lot in 2004 with (cheapo) mics and jukebox
inside a (loose) polythene bag. Quite acceptable, and preserved
my gear from rain! Maybe that's the way to go if one must.
For anyone interested in a NT1A=96TLM 103 shootout there's
some more stuff up on the site now. Hope to do more of this with
other mics soonish. Go

PS Rob, thanks for comments and going to trouble. Will look at
pdf later tonight but have someone turning up from Egypt (ferry
area) imminently. Suppose critical questions are, would you
accept modication of sound if it meant you could go out and
record in rain? Probably yes? Would you use it otherwise (eg
precautionary)? Probably not. It definitely changes things.
