There is no software on this planet that will rid you completely of wind
noise, once the wind hits the mic it becomes unwanted sound and definitely
degrades the recording. Of course you can trim it out by cutting the noise
out of the wave form but to actually filter out wind noise is virtually
impossible if you are looking for good recordings.
Recording wind is a different matter; we have all recorded wind rustling
through the trees etc. It is imperative that you avoid wind hitting the
mic....

What State are you living in? There is the Aust Wildlife Sound Recording
Group and they do have members in most states. If you can let me know I'll
