Thanks for reporting your measurements on the MicroTrack 24/96. I have a
couple of questions regarding your test procedure on the 1/4" TRS inputs.
I'm not familiar with the AKG C-451E. On the AKG website, I can only find
the model C-451B that has a relatively low sensitivity of 9 mV/Pa. Does you=

model C-451E has the same low sensitivity? If so, I guess that a hotter
microphone (25...50 mV/Pa) would provide better results.
Have you activated the '27dB TRS Boost' option from the menu? In my
experience, it is necessary to activate that option in order to get the bes=
t
noise performance from the 1/4" TRS inputs.
