Fornicating account Martyn! It's a good example of how normally diurnal birds will become nocturnal by taking advantage of artificial lighting and the attracted insects. I had an encounter with this a few years ago at the gambling casinos in Laughlin Nevada located along the Colorado River. The illuminated parking garages had House Finches catching insects at 10 pm and along the river wal= k Kingbirds, western I think, were busy catching insects attracted by the outdoor lighting. Jim |
