>Sounds like Ocecanthus quadripunctatus to me. I listened to a couple of red spotted toad samples at http://www-astro.physics.ox.ac.uk/~erik/toad/frames_world.html#bpu and I noted that the toads start below pitch and glide up. I went back to my Joshua Tree recordings and heard the glides there, so it -was- toads there. But the trills at Lava Beds don't have a glide, so my assumption was incorrect. Thanks John, Walt (off list), and Will. >Here is a jpg that compares Dan's recording with that of O.q. >http://f4.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/cDczQ07ueQB3zCRhP0TUstFNFAoLcGayp4KDa24stOTpKsGMCUqzNqRPOCqLp_ww7bFaaAmfkvaA-Hf9O56Y-HpjU-PjMS9NAAUjgR4/treecricketcompare-1.jpg I got that complete, but it wouldn't open for me. -Dan ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
