I live in the mountains of western North Carolina. The highest elevations east of the Mississippi. I knew it was beautiful here but I also thought it was fairly quiet until I decided to record the birds and the two brooks in back of my house. There's nothing like attempting a little Nature recording to show you just how NOISY it is where you thought it was quiet. Airplanes are the biggest offenders here, both the passenger jets and the smaller one or two engine planes. The smaller airplanes are the worst in my humble opinion as they have very loud engines, they fly lower, and they fly slower so they're in audible range longer. It's a noisy world and probably will only get noisier. ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
