An animal chomped about 20-60 times into 16 gauge lamp cord last night in the woods in SW Wisconsin. The biting is mostly around the metal spring clamps connected to the 12 volt lawn mower battery and going up about 2 feet. Six of the bites go down to just a few stands but, amazingly, the cables didn't short out or separate. The rest of the rig, 6' up in a tree was untouched. Anyone know of a lightweight, simple way to discourage wire chewing? I'm headed back out tomorrow morning. No time to listen to the culprit right now.
