The built-in mics overload easily and are kind of noisy.

If you got an external preamp or hot mic that will drive
line-in, then the sound is pretty good.  I haven't evaluated
the built-in mic preamp with good mics yet.

The level meter (singular) sucks, there's no on-the-fly
track splitting, and the user interface is awful.
The higher sample rates and bitdepth are a joke unless
you feeding it a very good line-in signal (it has no
digital in, just digital out), but 16/44.1 is OK and
you get more recording time.

I was so disappointed that I ordered an SD 722 -- still waiting.
