high sampling rate field recordings

Subject: high sampling rate field recordings

Dear all,
I am looking for portable recording solutions that
have a sampling rate of 192 kHz and more : I was
thinking of combining an external (usb?) sound card to
my laptop but most of the sound cards do not go over
96kHz. I also remember from previous postings that
low-pass filtering issues may decrease the advertised
sample rate... Does anyone have information about high
sampling rate sound cards? (or other equivalent
solutions for such recordings)
Many thanks,
Amanda.
