TRS quarter inch input jacks are certainly more robust than mini jacks, though not as robust as XLRs. And wouldn't there be some danger to mikes (especially ribbon mikes) as you're plugging in to a TRS jack with 48v phantom active on it? Momentary opens, shorts, you name it. As a caution, I'd say plug the cable into the recorder first, then attach the mikes. But if your mikes are in zeppelins that may not be easy. This unit could get even more interesting if Digidesign OKs using their Protools-for-M-Audio software with this model. It'd be the smallest acceptable dongle yet for ProTools.
