shop-vac filter material makes an excellent "zeppelin" for Shure lavs! I wrapped it around the existing windscreen and made a little "hot dog" held in place with safety pins. my guess is that it diffuses the wind in the same manner that hogs hair diffuses rain, breaking the wind enough so that the inner foam windscreen can be effective. The downside is that any rubbing is really loud, so I can't walk and record without figuring out a change of mounting. but first I have to go back to the hardware store since I cut up the filter I just got... mark ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
