Have a look at this page first for some ideas about recording and equipment,
then come back with some more questions, have a good look over the web for
prices appertaining to the equipment and see what budget you want to stay

Hi m8s
I have joined this brilliant forum, because i would like to go back 
home in lincolnshire, to record the sounds of a wood i spent many 
happy hours in as a child, i used to sit there all day in the school 
holidays all on my own ( i didnt get on with the other kids because 
all they wanted to do was go bird nesting, & that was against what i 
believed in
I have listened to some of your very good files, & all i would like 
to know is??
what equipment would i need & were can i purchase it from??
I would very gratfull to any m8 who could help me in my quest
