Hello from central Kentucky! I live in Richmond, just south of
Lexington. This year, starting about the second week in September, I began
hearing and seeing about half dozen or so birds after dark, around 9 or 10
p.m., they fly around, and sing and/or "chatter" (that's the best way I can
describe it). I've been trying to figure out what they are. My husband
thinks that they are the small,long-legged birds we see zooming around our
farm ponds during the day, particularly in the evening. I would love to
know what they are. We have the most amazing variety of birds here on our
farm. We are on top of a hill, and at least 5 miles away from town, with
our nearest neighbors about a mile away. We have 100 acres with both
pasture and undisturbed woods. Hope you can help!! Ellen Preston
