What's That Sound? - sounded like a cooing

There's something living under our deck, but I don't know what it is.  At 
first I thought maybe a cat that had babies.  My 2 dogs go crazy when I let 
them run outside. My oldest dog will even crawl under the deck.  This 
morning about 5am I took the dogs out and when I was shutting the door I 
heard a baby animal make a loud noise, but before I could listen for 
another sound it stopped.  Then I heard something that sounded like a 
cooing.  I've heard it before at a zoo, but not sure what it was.  I think 
it might leave during the day and come back at night.
