I have been unable to identify the creator of the quacking sounds coming from the trees (I think) at night. They, for there are many, start in the 2nd week of August straight through till September. It goes something like this: quack quack, followed by 3 more rapid quacks. I have no idea whether they are frogs or insects. I live in the suburbs in SE Massachusetts. Thanks for your help.
