HI, Great mystery! Location: western Massachusetts woods in tree near house . A whistling sound starting low and rising swiftly > whooooiiiiiit. repeats frequently at several minuets intervals. Sometimes throughout the night. Heard occasionally in July/August. Don't know if it's bird, bug, reptile or mammal. This is the third year I've heard it. Someone said it was a porcupine calling. It doesn't fit any description I've read. ??????? I really want to know what this is. Hope you can help. Thanks.
