If you could back-up as data to these, this would be very handy indeed.

Subject: [Nature Recordists] CF -> HiMD backup device

As noone else has mentioned it, Minidisc.org had a link to a very
interesting product today -- a cheap ($150 or so?) accessory for HiMD that
is a multi-format card reader that can rip CF cards and store the data on
HiMD decks -- and it's battery powered.

For me the first thought was, record on 722 (or other CF recorder), then
backup every night to HiMD with its 1 GB capacity purely as a data medium
hopefully as robust and reliable as MD is now. Could be a time consuming
operation, but paired with a pocket full of 1 GB CF cards and a habit of
offloading to MD every night... and still getting 24/96 (or what have you)
recording with full-speed USB uploading from the HiMD data area!

This all assuming the thing lets you treat .WAV files as simple data...

 best,
  aaron

PS see link off minidisc.org homepage -- the translation link is too long!
