Felmicamps recently announced that they intend to produce a pre-amp
model aimed at portable recorders with line-in ports:

A similar product is now available from Maycom.  It's called the MicTube:

These products will improve microphone recordings made with portable
hard disc machines like the Creative Nomad Jukebox 3.  They will also
work with Sony and Sharp minidisc recorders.

You may need to order direct.  Felmicamps is in England, Maycom in
Holland.
