To my surprise, the three models I have of Sharp MD's from last year, give=
only 0,4 - 0,45 v plug in power voltage. It's 1,2 - 1,4 without load, but
drops as soon as you connect the mic to it.
Such a low voltage is not enough.
I have contacted Sharp support, but I don't hope for any good explanation.
So: Dont buy any of the "last years" Sharp MD's. The models I have tested
are: (European) MT190H, MT290H and DR580H.
It's a pity, cause the function and the logic of these MD's is (are??)
really good.
Klas.

I use adhesive velcro/hook-n-loop to fasten my PCM-M1 DAT to my MP-2
preamp. (I also have a 4 D-cell battery holder velcro-attached to the
other side of my MP-2.) With a camera strap attached to the MP-2 it
makes a nice portable setup, albeit with several audio/power jumpers
running all around it.
I expect it might ultimately affect the resale values a little, but the
convenience is worth it to me. The only thing I worry about is flexing
the case and frame of my very fragile micro DAT recorder when separating
the components, so I try to use a small screwdriver to separate them
gently.

Does anyone use velcro to hold a minidisc in
place? I don't see too many options for
strapping it down without blocking one or another
button. I only have the MZ-R50.
