If one is to believe those that dislike mp3, it's near impossible to 
have downloadable quality samples as they have to be full size 
uncompressed files. If you are willing to tolerate mp3 or other 
compression (soon to be AAC), then there are more options.

What would be ideal is to have Google add a audio sample searcher. They 
already have a image search.

I try to put up a few samples along, but my server space is far too 
limiting to do much. Main link for samples:

I've a few new comparisons to do once the recording season is underway. 
Probably some of what's up now will be removed to make room.
