winter dippers

I cant say whether all dippers are vocal in winter,
however. Two years ago in Switzerland in Feb they
were certainley vocal. The main problem winter or
summer is isolating them from the noise of water. You
could try suspending a cardiode mic. over a song post,
they return to favorite posts often. Caution though,
I do know of a mic. that was destroyed by a sudden
flood doing just this.
