If your main concern is recording quality and control, then go with what I
know, the DR7, I have used this machine and taken it through the mill and i=
t
still comes out smelling like roses. I do not know much about the DR80 but
rest assured, if you go for this model, in 3 months there will be a DR81 an=
d
so on!
Buying the DR7 will save you money and perform to the highest quality, read
the reviews in this group regarding the DR7.

Subject: [Nature Recordists] MD for recording purposes

Hello, all

I was planning on getting the Sharp MD-DR7 minidisc recorder, until i saw
that it's
successor, the Sharp IM-DR80 has come out and has some new features. For
the
purposes of recording, however, can anyone give me some input as to some of
the
pros and cons of one over the other - again, i am pretty new to this and
don't want to
regret my purchase . . .. my main concern is recording quality and control =
.
. ..

Here is a direct link to the two products on Audiocubes.com:

Thanks for any help, and/or education you can provide me with!
-mike
